GIO's pooled funds emerged in second place on the fund manager performance charts with a 6.17 percent growth so investors in GIO's super and investment funds have fared well. While the results were due to a number of factors, ironically, part of the success of the Australian equities portfolio is that the manger is not permitted to hold shares in either GIO or AMP.

The treatment of British pensioners living outside Britain varies from country to country, recipients in US, Israel and Europe receive indexed pensions, while recipients in Australia, New Zealand, Canada and South Africa do not. People in Australia receiving British pensions are being ripped off as the initial payment is frozen for the term of the pension.
