There are new options for the investors who like more control than managed funds allow but don't want the responsibility of a direct share portfolio. Managed accounts allow investors the benefits of having an expert take care of their investments and the administration of their portfolio, but because they own the shares directly they don't carry the tax issues of thousands of other unit holders as they would in a managed fund.
