Debenture bloodbath
Article Abstract:
The debenture industry is in turmoil following a crackdown by the Australian Securities $ Investments Commission (ASIC), which has resulted in 22 companies withdrawing their prospectuses from sale over the past year 2003. The regulator is concerned that investors are not getting enough information about risks involved when they invest in debentures, and products such as unsecured notes and bonds.
