Why we like our 2-star funds
Article Abstract:
Star rating is a purely quantitative assessment of a fund's risk-adjusted performance, and it will not capture fundamental changes, particularly those that happened recently. Looking at a fund's management, investment process, analytical support, track record and expenses not only can help discern skilled managers from lucky ones but can also uncover low-rated funds that may be poised to improve their standings due to a change in leadership or strategy, and could payoff eventually.

Why mutual funds are the way to go for tax-free income
Article Abstract:
The municipal bonds and mutual funds are compared with respect to the risks involved, better returns and tax-free income. Investors will get better returns by buying a municipal-bond fund rather than individual muni bonds because bond funds employ in-depth credit research, individual muni bonds can get cancelled, bond funds can secure better prices than individual bonds and bond funds help in reducing risk by diversifying across regions and sectors.
