Windfall wisdom
Article Abstract:
What should be done with big lottery prizes is widely discussed, but seldom by those who actually need to solve the problem. Often the windfall is spent, and spent on the wrong thing. Tax implications and hiring an adviser are considered. Case studies are examined, with some discussion of large inheritances and large redundancy payouts (severance packages). In Australia 350 millionaires have been created by Tattersalls Lotteries (Tattslotto).
