The green equation
Article Abstract:
Green pricing (GP) and green power marketing (GM) are expected to drive the clean, renewable energy sector. GP offers customers power from a clean source at a higher rate, either tariff or fixed. GM positions energy firms as environmentally sensitive to draw new customers. As price disparity decreases, GM will emerge as a long-term growth strategy for energy companies.

Challenges for RTO formation
Article Abstract:
A number of factors have been identified as the reasons behind the non-formation of regional transmission organizations (RTOs) in certain areas. These include variations in regional circumstances, with some states appreciating how RTOs have improved system reliability and generation market efficiencies even as others refuse to recognize their benefits. Other states are not inclined to adopt an RTO system due to the lack of tight power pools or the presence of high transaction and other costs amid fewer benefits. This should compel the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission into adopting an RTO economic policy that would make RTO membership financially attractice to both jurisdictional and non-jurisdictional utilities.
