Energy bill: more than pork
Article Abstract:
The utility companies have adhered to the different conclusion mentioned in the energy bill, as they will help the industry to be much better organized and provide better services to its customers. Moreover in the context what may be pork for one person would probably be tough muscle for another, hence the different sections of the bill are controversial as a particular section may be beneficial for a particular constituency but the same may be objectionable to another one.

Who needs another fence?

A ringfencing is used to isolate the regulated public utility form the risk of unregulated activities carried out by affiliates. In order to keep down the utility's cost of capital and to prevent the utility form buying services at above-market prices from affiliates, regulators ringfence public utilities.
