Sweden's floating capital
Article Abstract:
Stockholm, Sweden, is a city rich in cultural events, such as the annual summer Water Festival, which is capped by the spectacular International Fireworks Championships. The Festival draws over 360,000 visitors a day and includes a variety of musical and dramatic performances. The city, which extends over an archipelago of 14 islands, seems the perfect location for a waterfront festival. The 1997 Water Festival is scheduled for Aug 8 through Aug 16. Those wishing to experience an average 16 hours of daily sunshine, however, should plan to visit the city between May and July.
