The Output of the M-M-S Queue
Article Abstract:
The transient distribution of the output process of the M-M-S queue operating in continuous time is addressed. How the system operates under heavy load is of major concern. Overload and normal performance can be predicted from the model. Queueing networks where the output stream from one queue forms the input to another can be analyzed with the model. Results are provided for Markovian queues with any number of servers. Graphs are used to illustrate results.

M-G-I-N Queue with Vacation Time and Exhaustive Service Discipline
Article Abstract:
Modeling complicated real-time algorithms often requires several simpler models. The analysis of cyclic processor schedules is such a real-time process and is addressed. The finite M-G-I-N queue with independent vacation time and exhaustive service dicipline is considered. A unified approach combines the supplementary variables and the sample blasine techniques. The waiting time and busy period distributions are given.
