Article Abstract:
The Washington International Energy Group has conducted a survey of 3,557 senior executives from electric utilities in the US and Canada. Most of the executives expect a massive consolidation and a trend toward universal direct retail access. About 42% of the executives do not expect their company to survive by year 2005. Majority of the respondents favor to focus on electricity distribution. About 92% reveal that their company will implement cost-cutting measures in the future.
