Applying philosophy to sustainable forest management planning and implementation in the Western Newfoundland Model Forest
Article Abstract:
The application of applied philosophy to forest management planning and implementation in the Western Newfoundland Model Forest (WNMF) is discussed. Established in 1992, the WNMF considers all identified values in planning, including social, economic and environmental values as well as ecological justice. Unlike mere rhetorics of commitment to justice, the WNMF's commitment to the ecosystem has been active and has produced goals, action plans and research programs.
