A reflexive model of environmental regulation
Article Abstract:
The reflexive model of environmental regulation seeks to incorporate self-assessment and environmental responsibility within business institutions. Conventional models based on market-based regulations and command-and-control are often ineffective and take a negative approach in handling complex environmental problems. The flexibility of the reflexive approach enables it to positively motivate businesses towards environmentally safe products and processes.

Environmental risk and the iron triangle: the case of Yucca Mountain
Article Abstract:
An 'iron triangle' of industry, government, and contractors supports a permanent repository of nuclear waste at Yucca Mountain, Nevada. The problems arise from scientific uncertainties related to public and environmental safety, ethical issues, and postponement of similar decisions in other countries. The triad should accommodate public opinion in view of the considerable public safety risk and the uncertainty involved.
