Is it good to make happy people?
Article Abstract:
The article considers the impact of potential quality of life on human reproduction and population policy and advocates the claim that the quality of life of potential people is as important as that of adults. The author argues for a position somewhere between doing whatever is necessary to prolong a life worth living and controlling overpopulation being more important than realizing potential happiness.

The principle of agency
Article Abstract:
The article discusses the principle of agency and its contradiction with the objections of some bioethicists to practices such as in vitro fertilization and euthanasia. The author concludes that some form of the principle of agency seems inescapable and that the opposite view, that reproducing by artificial means is impermissible, may owe its appeal to a religious view of nature.
