Learning from Frankena: a philosophical remembrance
Article Abstract:
Philosopher William Frankena was known for his works which establish the association of areas such as metaethics, history of ethics, normative ethical theory, moral education, moral psychology, applied ethics and religious ethics. His works on the normativity of ethics and ethical thought and their relation to motivation and will, reflect his belief that the autonomy of the moral agent is connected to the autonomy of ethics, wherein 'ought' is a basic ethical concept that results from deliberative thinking.

Kamm on the morality of killing
Article Abstract:
Frances Kamm's book, 'Morality, Mortality,' presents the views of a deontologist on the morality of killing which has been a key subject in substantive ethics since 1973. Affirmative answers were given to three questions which include the genuine moral difference between letting die and killing, the existence of a way to account for the killing of some and the saving of others in some incidents and the possibility of supplying a justification for constraint against killing.
