Stakeholders and participation in corporate governance: a critique of some of the arguments
Article Abstract:
The role of stockholders in corporate responsibility was discussed through the presentation of arguments based on the principles of R. Edward Freeman. The stakeholder theory of Freeman was an alternative method in dealing with business ethics. Freeman asserted that corporations should be governed for the sake of their stockholders since they are significant in corporate success. Freeman also suggested that the right to participate in corporate responsibility should be provided to every stakeholder. The management has a legal duty to protect interests of stockholders.

The effect of announcements of corporate misconduct and insider trading on shareholder returns
Article Abstract:
Announcements of corporate and personal misconduct do not appear to affect shareholder wealth on announcement day, although there is a negative effect two days before the announcement is made public. Reported news of such activity may therefore be regarded as too old to be relevant.
