A political success story
Article Abstract:
Efforts by Ethiopia's current political leaders to establish democracy have in some ways been extremely successful. Significant changes have been made to Ethiopia's administrative structure, and government based on ethnic federalism has been established. Ordinary people are free to make their own decisions about how to earn their living. However, it is still necessary to adapt modern democratic processes at grassroots level to align with Ethiopian priorities. The country's judicial system remains weak, and illiteracy levels are still very high.

The political sermons of Samuel Johnson
Article Abstract:
The 18th-century lexicographer Samuel Johnson was more than an essayist and writer of dictionary definitions and literary criticism. It was also an accomplished poet and dramatist. Johnson appears to have been very knowledgeable regarding the social and political problems in his era, as evidenced in his political essays and two lesser-known sermons. An evaluation of these sermons suggests that the writer's political views were strongly influenced by his religious views.
