Another Afghan adventure

Article Abstract:

The US is retreating its four thousand coalition troops from two of Afghanistan's most dangerous provinces, Helmand and Kandahar and they are being replaced by the British soldiers. The last time the British Army had taken up the post in southern Afghanistan in the late 19th century, it had provoked an Afghan 'jihad against Britain', however, in 2006, four years into the mission, the failure to adopt more robust measures to maintain peace has lead to a significant worsening of security.
