Can the media be so liberal? The economics of media bias

Article Abstract:

Many conservatives have long argued the mass media displays a liberal bias. Maintained bias requires a news cartel, yet media owners demonstrably permit journalists to display liberal views that harm potential profits, and no explanation has been offered for how such a cartel could be protected against entrants and defectors.

The virtue of civility

An overview is presented on civility, or social politeness, and moral philosophy. The author argues that civility is rarely identified as a moral virtue, as it has more to do with class distinction and compliance with social norms, than it does with ethics and respect for fellow individuals.
