Contradictory trends and confusing signals

This article examines the current political situation in China. The author argues Chinese politics is in a contradictory state in which political reform is contending with political decay that has a ways to go before it reaches its end.

This article discusses capitalism and democracy in China. The author argues that even though China is successfully embracing capitalism it does not necessarily mean it will lead to democracy.
