Don't gamble with GATS - The interaction between Articles VI, XVI, XVII, and XVIII GATS in the light of the US - 'Gambling' case

Article Abstract:

A dividing line between Articles VI, XVI, XVII, and XVIII that are four important provisions of the General Agreement on Trade in Services (GATS) is drawn. The lack of clarity of the GATS text on the relationship of these four Articles is exemplified in the US-Gambling dispute.

Economic and cultural impact on intellectual property violations: a study of software policy

A study explores the relationship between culture and software piracy as an intellectual property (IP) violation. Results demonstrate that culture as a whole is a crucial factor to explain piracy.
