'If not you, then who?' Earth First! in the UK
Article Abstract:
The Earth First! (EF!) movement in the UK is a convenient banner for linking green activists rather than a traditional political organization. The movement enjoys the highest profile in the environmental protest scene but has enough overlapping links with other groups that it is not really distinguishable from other organizations. The group also has a growing cultural dimension that serves as an informal network.

Organising environmental self-regulation: liberal governmentality and the pursuit of ecological modernisation in Europe
Article Abstract:
The ecological modernisation movement in Europe received a fatal setback in the form of the European Commission's Fifth Environmental Action Programme. The program failed to address barriers in the adoption of clean technologies and the development of interrelationships between management systems, product information and price signals, thus threatening the discourse coalition that supports political strategy.
