Making federalism work
Article Abstract:
The federal government in India, unlike its counterpart in the US and other countries, is highly centralized. The government in New Delhi, holds much power over the state governments. This allows the central government to confine conflicts within the boundaries of the state. There are several factors that maintain the relationship between the central and state governments at a manageable state. However, there has also been a breakdown of this relationship leading to separatist movements in some states such as Andhra Pradesh, Punjab and Kashmir.

Governing the skies: conditions for the Europeanisation of airline policy
Article Abstract:
A study argues that a partial transference of sovereignty has come about within the EU, beginning after the passage of the Single European Act of 1986, with the gradual shift in regulatory authority from national capitals to Brussels, Belgium. This transfer of policy competence is particularly evident in politically sensitive areas such as civil aviation. Although this transference of sovereignty has yet to be completed, a genuine balance of power is thus emerging between supranational institutions and Brussels.

Primary and supplementary policy making: an essential distinction
Article Abstract:
The claim of Steven Maynard-Moody that legislative policy making and administrative policy making are distinct but linked processes is contentious. There are constitutional bodies that fill the role of primary policy makers and administrative agencies that have supplementary policy making roles. It is important to consider constitutional history, politically defined roles and legal precedents in the development of a theoretical framework in the analysis of administrative policy making.
