Survival and size mobility among the world's largest 100 industrial corporations, 1912-1995
Article Abstract:
A considerable change in survival rate and size mobility was noted between the world's largest industrial corporations during the early 1900s compared to those in the mid 1990s. Although both periods were marked by industrial stability, the nature of companies in the top 100 spot have changed, as well. This may be attributed to the emergence of new sectors, including petroleum, electricals, chemicals and copper mining. Among the countries studied, United Kingdom posted the highest chance of survival, with 47 percentage points.

Management in a bottle: pesticides and the deskilling of agriculture
Article Abstract:
Chemical manufacturers provide pest management information to farmers. Several studies on pesticide use have shown that farmers who obtain pest management information from chemical dealers use more pesticides and that farmers who are more educated and who make pesticide use decisions on their own use less pesticides. Such findings indicate the significant relationship between dissemination of information on pest management and increased pesticide use.
