Article Abstract:

China's State General Bureau of Environmental Protection has formulated a 'Technical Program for the Emergency Treatment of Wastewater Contaminated by the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) Virus' and 'Disposal of Waste Substances Contaminated by the SARS Virus'. These programs are notified to the concerned environmental bureaus, in order to strengthen management and guidance over the discharge of wastewater and the treatment and disposal of waste substances by medical institutions to prevent the spread of SARS.

An act governing relations between people of the Taiwan area and the mainland area is presented. This act is enacted for the purposes of ensuring the security and public welfare in the Taiwan area, regulating dealings between the people of the Taiwan area and the mainland area, and handling legal matters arising there from before national unification.
