President Bush's Middle East arms control initiative: one year later
Article Abstract:
Pres Bush implemented his Middle East arms control initiative over one year ago with the assistance of the five permanent members of the UN security council. Arms Control Assn (ACA) assistant director for research Lee Feinstein believes that the initiative has been a failure in the sense that current US policy and practice is in conflict with the intent of the initiative. British American Security Information Council deputy director Natalie Goldring held similar views and said that very little has been done to control arms transfers to the Middle East.
