Article Abstract:

Terrie Williams, a public relations expert, feels that people should not be daunted by problems till they reach their goals and believes that humility brings success. She thinks African Americans should be articulate about their likes and dislikes and feels that blacks should have their own media to project suitable role models for black men and women. Williams, whose clientele includes Eddie Murphy, Hammer and Miles Davis, has written a book on the ways and means to be successful in business.

Dr. Bertha M. Roddy: just a reluctant leader who takes the bull by the horns

Article Abstract:

Dr. Bertha M. Roddy, elected in 1992 as president of the Delta Sigma Theta Inc. sorority, will enhance the organization's role in society by initiating and pursuing community programs such as a child immunization campaign, a literacy program, an alcohol and drug abuse education project, and Project Cherish to protect African-American landmarks and relics. The organization's Habitat for Humanity home construction program provides low-income families with better housing.
