Wilt Chamberlain revisited: Nozick's "Justice in Transfer" and the problem of market-based distribution
Article Abstract:
Robert Nozick's argument that people have prior rights to the exchange value of their labor and property over the right of a state to appropriate a part of the exchange value via taxation was criticized. Nozick based his argument on the fact that the value was exchanged voluntarily by buyers who owned what they transferred, referred to as 'justice in transfer.' Nozick's ideas were presented in his book 'Anarchy, State and Utopia.' In one passage, the book argues that people who voluntarily pay to see Wilt Chamberlain play basketball is an example of a voluntary exchange of value. It was argued that Nozick's notion of entitlement by transfer is questionable because neither party has a right to the total market value of the assets they intend to exchange.

Access to justice: Widows and the institutions regulating succession to property in Uganda
Article Abstract:
The barriers widows encounter when accessing the institutions that regulate property rights at succession in Uganda are investigated. The 1995 Constitution of the Republic of Uganda in terms of article 31(2) establishes rights under which widows can inherit property from their spouses and enjoy parental rights over their children, however, women are not empowered to do so, therefore it is suggested that the institutional framework regulating succession to property must be made easily accessible to widows.
