Women who rap
Article Abstract:
Queen Latifah was the first woman to gain recognition as a rap singer in an all-male field and she led the way for other women rappers such as Sister Souljah, Queen Mother Rage, Salt N Pepa and Adeva. Queen Latifah sings about feminism, nonviolence, love and friendship. Her album 'In Living Color' is anti-sexist and 'Nature of a Sista'' sends out ego signals. Sister Souljah raps about politics, blacks and civil rights in her video 'Slavery is Black' and her disc 'Final Solution.' Queen Mother Rage also sings about politics.
