Acute neuropsychological effects of methylphenidate in stimulant drug-naive boys with ADHD II--Broader executive and non-executive domains
Article Abstract:
The acute effects of the psychostimulant drug, methylphenidate (MPH), on neuropsychological performance in stimulant naive boys with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) are investigated. Neuropsychological performance is not impaired by acute administration of MPH to drug naive boys with ADHD, but enhanced performance on some aspects of non-executive functioning, and suggests that MPH act by improving self-regulatory ability.

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder with reading disabilities: Preliminary genetic findings on the involvement of the ADRA2A gene
Article Abstract:
One hundred and fifty-two children with a diagnosis of attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) were recruited to examine the neurobiological evidence of the hypothesis that the adrenergic receptor (ADRA2A) gene is contributing to ADHD and comorbid reading disability (RD). For those with ADHD plus RD there was evidence that ADRA2A polymorphism with the G allele is preferentially transmitted.
