Age-related differences in the visual processes implied in perception and action: distance and location parameters

Article Abstract:

The two experiments conducted to examine the ontogenetic development of the illusion-based disassociation between perception and action in children using the Dunker illusion are presented. In this illusion, a moving background alters the perceived direction of target motion. Though the target is stationary it appears to be moving. The results revealed that before the age of 7 years, the allocentric visual perception pathway from the egocentric action pathway occurred.

Isometric force regulation in children

Article Abstract:

The investigation of isometric force regulation in children reveals that the construction of an appropriate internal model of the target path and the functional ability to amalgamate spatio-temporal information in the central nervous system is responsible for most of the skill required to successfully perform isometric pinch force task. The maximum performance on the correlation measure among a group of children was found to be older children and adults.
