Annotation: Outcomes in long-term foster family care
Article Abstract:
Outcomes for children in foster care are difficult to assess without referring to the context of services in which foster families work, support and training received by foster carers and the nature of the children involved. Assessments are useful to determine if the needs of foster children are being met and to determine if foster care fulfills its purposes. Certain studies show that the outcome for long-term foster care is often much better than suggested by current professional prejudice.

Annotation: Routine monitoring of the effectiveness of child psychotherapy
Article Abstract:
Efficacy studies of child psychotherapy outcomes aim to develop and refine treatments, and evaluate treatments in conditions where they are most likely to be applied. Routine monitoring may be used in its narrowest form to assess treatment outcomes on a route basis, or more broadly to determine the effectiveness of a clinic. Implementing a routine monitoring study can be challenging, but can be achieved without placing too much pressure on clients and staff.
