Cardiovascular reactivity to and recovery from psychological challenge as predictors of 3-year change in Blood Pressure

Article Abstract:

The study examined whether cardiovascular reactivity to and recovery from psychological challenge predict 3-year change in blood pressure (BP) among the normotensive, community-dwelling adults and the assessments were conducted at baseline and follow up. It found that poorer cardiovascular recovery from psychological challenge predicts 3-year change in BP among health, community dwelling adults, even after controlling for traditional BP predictors, lifestyle factors and cardiovascular reactivity.
