Childhood sexual and physical abuse and the 1-year prevalence of medical problems in the national comorbidity survey

Article Abstract:

The independent effects of childhood sexual and physical abuse and the related 1-year prevalence of serious medical problems are studied through the national comorbidity survey consisting of 5,877 participants in the ages ranging from 15 to 54 years. The findings of the study indicated that the childhood experiences of abuse were related to the 1-year prevalence of medical problems in men and women.

Accumulation of behavioral validation evidence for physical activity stage of change

Article Abstract:

Data from nine health trials was gathered to present evidence of behavioral validation of physical activity stage of change. Results showed that physical activity stage of change is behaviorally valid as found in in self-reported exercise. pedometers, self-reported physical activity, physical functioning and self-reported sedentary behaviors.

Article Abstract:

The challenges facing the translation of evidence-based management of childhood obesity into clinical practice includes the lack of recognition by parents and lack of practitioner skills in the identification of childhood obesity. A case of childhood obesity is discussed to to look into current-evidence based recommendations.
