Color perception in ADHD

Article Abstract:

Color perception and rapid color naming ability were investigated in 14 children with attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and 13 healthy peers, matched for age, gender and IQ, using the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test (FMT) and the Stroop-Color-Word test. Children with ADHD committed more errors on the FMT, particularly on discrimination of colors along the blue-yellow axis, and were also slower on Stroop subtests involving color naming.

Event rate and event-related potentials in ADHD

Article Abstract:

Event-related potentials (ERPs) were evaluated during a Go/No-Go task that incorporated with fast and slow presentation rates in children suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). It was observed that the association between the steeper increase in reaction time (RT) and reduced parietal P3 amplitude could be an indication that children with ADHD did not make extra efforts to adjust to a potentially under-activated state.
