Comparison of different enzymeimmunoassays for assessment of adrenocortical activity in primates based on fecal analysis

Article Abstract:

A study to assess the validity of four enzymeimmunoassays (EIAs) using antibodies raised against cortisol, corticosterone, and reduced cortisol metabolites for assessing adrenocortical activity using fecal glucocorticoid metabolite measurements in selected primate species is illustrated. Severe stress can exert potentially deleterious effects on a variety of physiological, psychosocial, and behavioral parameters in many vertebrate species.

Colors of primate pelage and skin: objective assessment of conspicuousness

Article Abstract:

The quantitative means of assessing the conspicuousness of animal coats or other objects in terms of color vision is discussed. A brief review of mammalian color vision, the results of Gamut of chromaticities presented by primate pelage, cryptic primates, as well as discussions on these topics is studied.
