Marital behavior and the security of preschooler-parent attachment relationships

Article Abstract:

The positive and negative links between marital behavior and preschoolers' attachment relationships with their mothers and fathers were investigated. Greater marital conflict at three years was linked to less security with mother and father, while positive marital engagement was linked to more secure child-father attachment.

Associations between coparenting and marital behavior from infancy to the preschool years

Article Abstract:

The association between coparenting and marital behavior from infancy to preschool years is examined. The study shows the importance of early coparenting behavior, especially undermining coparenting behavior, for understanding both subsequent coparenting behavior and subsequent marital behavior.
