Coping, control, and adjustment in Type 2 diabetes

Article Abstract:

This article examines the relationship between coping strategies, perceived control, and adjustment among diabetic patients. Findings indicate that coping strategies significantly influence feelings of well-being while perceptions of control are negatively correlated with anxiety, depression, and blood glucose levels.

Mismatches in social support and psychosocial adjustment to breast cancer

Article Abstract:

A study examined the role of wanted and unwanted support in the psychosocial adjustment of seventy-nine women recovering from breast cancer. Results indicated four definite patterns of desired support actions, indicating that women with breast cancer vary in the social support they want from their personal supporters.

Perceptual style and behavioral pattern of individuals with functional gastrointestinal disorders

Article Abstract:

Research indicates that individuals with gastrointenstinal disorders monitor threatening information and exemplify an action-oriented coping response to stressful events more often than those without disorders. Studies were based on 120 Hong Kong adults 29 to 57 years old.
