Cross-ethnic differences in eating disorder symptoms and related distress

Article Abstract:

A U.S. college-based eating disorders screening program was investigated to determine the extent to which ethnic differences influenced the frequency of eating disorder symptoms and related problems. Results identified ethnic diversity in symptom prevalence and related distress and a clinician acceptance of this diversity could increase culturally competent care for eating disorders.
