Cue exposure in the treatment of resistant bulimia nervosa

Article Abstract:

This article examines the effectiveness of cue exposure in treating bulimic women who have not responded well to the usual pharmacologic or cognitive-behavioral treatments. The authors, maintainting cue exposure is based upon conditioning in which patients' cravings are extinguished in the presence of stimulus (food), conclude cue exposure may be effective for patients who are resistant to conventional treatments.

Anorexia Nervosa and obsessive-compulsive disorder in a prepubertal patient with bone dysplasia: A case report

Article Abstract:

The case of a 13-year-old girl with body dyplasia, anorexia nervosa, and obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) is reported. Results revealed that the girl experienced an adequate weight and height increase and remission of obsessive-compulsive symtomatology, and reestablished adequate social and academic functioning on undergoing cognitive-behavioral therapy.

Cue exposure in the treatment of resistant adolescent bulimia nervosa

Article Abstract:

A study examined the option of cue exposure (CE) as another line of treatment for patients afflicted with bulimia nervosa. Results revealed a significant reduction of the psychopathological factors with the treatment particularly in resistant adolescent bulimia nervosa.
