Schema avoidance in bulimic and non-eating-disordered women

Article Abstract:

Research examining schema avoidance in bulimic women is presented, on the basis of comparative surveys with non-clinical women. It is emphasized that bulimic women scored higher on the Young-Rygh Avoidance Inventory scales than non-bulimic women.

Early environmental influences on restrictive eating pathology among nonclinical females: the role of temperature at birth

Article Abstract:

Research designed to established whether there is a link between pattern of birth and restrictive eating attitudes among a nonclinical population of young female adults is presented. This work supported earlier findings that restrictive pathology and body dissatisfaction are more likely to appear among women born in May-Aug. The connection seems to be more readily understood as a connection to temperature at birth, rather than to the period of birth in itself.
