Error monitoring in speech production: a computational test of the perceptual loop theory
Article Abstract:
A computational model has been developed of the perceptual loop theory of error monitoring in speech production, and simulation studies have been conducted. Topics discussed include evidence for the perceptual loop theory, criticisms of the theory, a modified main interruption rule, model description, simulation studies, effects of speech rate, parse buffer, self-monitoring and other-monitoring, and limitations of the model.

Object attraction in subject-verb agreement construction
Article Abstract:
Constituents modifying sentence subjects have been seen to exert an increased rate of agreement errors when a consitutent has a different grammatical error, or "attraction effect." Research on this effect suggests the number of phrasal nodes between subject head noun and "attractor" determines attraction strength.

ORIGIN OF SERIAL-OUTPUT COMPLEXITY IN SPEECH
Article Abstract:
Research presented concerns the development of language in infants in the early speech stages. Topics addressed include the repetitive speech pattern of infants and how they increase speech complexity through consonant repetition, mandibular oscillation, and tongue movement.
