Feature inference and the casual structure of categories
Article Abstract:
The way in which the theoretical category knowledge, specifically, knowledge of the casual relations that link the features of categories supports the ability to infer the presence of unobserved features is established. However, a pervasive violation of one of the defining principles of Bayes' nets the causal Markov condition was observed as the characteristic features invariably led participants to infer yet another characteristic feature.

Spatial knowledge acquisition from direct experience in the environment: Individual differences in the development of metric knowledge and the integration of separately learned places
Article Abstract:
The spatial microgenesis of individuals is studied by individually driving persons along different routes in a previously unfamiliar neighborhood over weekly sessions. It is observed that some participants' knowledge improves fairly continuously over the sessions, but most participants either manifest accurate metric knowledge from the first session or never manifest accurate metric knowledge.

Is motion extrapolation employed in multiple object tracking? Tracking as a low-level non-predictive function
Article Abstract:
A series of five experiments was conducted to investigate whether visual tracking mechanisms utilize prediction when recovering multiple reappearing objects. When all objects disappeared and reappeared in ways that implicated the presence of an occluder, tracking was not predictive, and performance deteriorated with increased displacement.
