From nest to nest- influence of ecology and reproduction on the active period of adult Gombe chimpanzees

Article Abstract:

The influence of sex, female reproductive status, dominance rank, and season on the duration of the active period of adult chimpanzees at Gombe National Park, Tanzania is investigated. The findings indicate that sexually nonreceptive females have shorter active periods compared to males, while receptive females have longer active periods than males.

Possible audience effect in Thomas Langurs (Primates: Presbytis thomasi): an experimental study on male loud calls in response to a Tiger model

Article Abstract:

The influence of an audience on calling behavior is demonstrated. A study is conducted on wild primates and the results indicate that males in mixed-sex respond louder to a tiger model than solitary males.
