Good and bad humors: biochemical bases of personality and its disorders
Article Abstract:
Neurotransmitter systems in the brain and hormones account for individual differences in traits and behaviors in humans and other species. Thus, extroverts, neurotics, impulsive sensation seekers or antisocials were not born that way; rather, people are born with differences in reactivities of brain structures and levels of regulators. These were the key findings in a study of the relationship between personality traits and biochemicals. It was also found that there are very few simple, one-to-one relationships between personality traits and a single neurotransmitter, enzyme or hormone.

Errors in hand scoring objective personality tests: the case of the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire-Revised (PDQ-R)
Article Abstract:
Manual scoring of psychological tests may produce errors that could lead to variations in the accuracy of measurement. A group of psychologists who were trained in hand-scoring the Personality Diagnostic Questionnaire produced errors which may have reduced the accuracy of the tests as compared to scoring done by computer. Some of the errors would have led to diagnostic errors if they had gone unrecognized. Computerized scoring may eliminate the occurrence of errors in such cases.
