Improving group judgment accuracy: information sharing and determining the best member
Article Abstract:
Group decision making can be demonstrated to be as accurate as the best effort of their most accurate member. Groups that were asked to solve problems performed well if they were asked to identify who their most accurate member would be. They may also benefit from suggestions that they share relevant information about the problem with each member. The process of evaluating each member's accuracy seems to lead to better interaction that facilitates information flow.

Interdependence and controversy in group decision making: antecedents to effective self-managing teams
Article Abstract:
An analysis of the role of competition and cooperation on self-managing teams reveals that the two factors effectively help identify social processes that would empower the group. The study, however, cites that cooperative goals forced the teams to discuss views open-mindedly and constructively while competitive goals appeared to interfere with constructive controversy confidence and effectiveness.

Realism in confidence judgments as a function of working in dyads or alone
Article Abstract:
The realism of confidence judgments made by individuals and by pairs is compared. A within-subject design is used to analyze the differences. Results show that pairs are less overconfident and make more accurate judgments. Detailed analysis also indicates that arguments can more effectively reduce a pair member's confidence when they are given by the other pair member.
