Objective and subjective assessments of socioeconomic status and their relationship to self-rated health in an ethnically diverse sample of pregnant women

Article Abstract:

This article examines the relationship between social status assessments and self-reported health ratings among a sample of Caucasian, Chinese, African American, and Hispanic pregnant women. Results indicate that subjective status assessments were related to health ratings across groups while income was only a significant health predictor among African Americans and Hispanics.
