On Horwitz (2006), "Forty Years of Group Psychotherapy at the Menninger Clinic"
Article Abstract:
Group psychotherapy, introduced in the 1960s at the Meninger Clinic, lacked legitimacy in the eyes of the practitioners practicing the 2-person relationship of psychoanalysis for long, as Len Horwitz (2006) describes it. Understanding of group process by the treatment team led to better interpersonal relationships among the staff, bringing with it a success of a unique participative management, and Len Horwitz's efforts to champion this therapeutic approach throughout the years was invaluable.
