One- to two-year-olds' recall of events: the more expressed, the more impressed
Article Abstract:
The event memory of 1- to 2-year-olds' is facilitated by the presence of a verbal mode of elaboration. The experienced events are remembered, regardless of the child's age at the time of exposure and the delay interval. Modest relationships between verbal and non-verbal measures have been exhibited. Verbal expression of memory following the delay depends on the language ability at the time of exposure to the events.
