Economic stress and psychological well-being: an economic psychology framework
Article Abstract:
The effects of socioeconomic status on the mental health of individuals are studied using the Economic, Demographic and Social Characteristics Questionnaire. Results show that an increase in economic stressors leads to an increase in psychological distress. Factors contributing to economic stress include family income, spousal support, occupational level, number of dependents and economic mobility.
