Promoting family involvement in learning
Article Abstract:
Family involvement plays a crucial role in improving educational outcomes. The US Department of Education's summary of 30 years of research indicates parental participation, in terms of controllable home factors and reading to children, improves learning. The government-run Family Involvement Partnership for Learning focuses on roles played by schools, business and religious organizations, and government policies in education. The importance of governmental acts and federal aid for fostering such efforts is highlighted.
